Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Noamax Online Image Converter Free?
Yes. You can convert up to five supported images at a time and download the completed files without an account, credit card, daily allowance, or Noamax credit.
Are My Images Uploaded to Noamax?
No. Validation, previewing, conversion, comparison, and download preparation happen locally in your browser. Your source and converted images are not sent to Noamax.
Which Image Formats Can I Convert?
The converter accepts static JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and safe self-contained SVG files. JPG converts to PNG or WebP, PNG converts to JPG or WebP, WebP converts to JPG or PNG, HEIC converts to JPG, and SVG converts to PNG.
Can I Convert Different Formats in One Batch?
Yes. The main image converter accepts mixed supported formats. Every image keeps its own valid output selection, and a Convert All to option appears only when one output works for the entire batch.
Will Conversion Make My Image Smaller?
Not necessarily. File size depends on the source encoding, image content, output format, quality, and transparency. The image converter reports the actual output size without promising a reduction.
Does Converting JPG to PNG Restore Quality or Transparency?
No. PNG can store pixels without further JPEG loss, but it cannot restore detail or transparency that was already removed from the JPG source. The PNG may also be larger.
What Happens to Transparent Pixels When Converting to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency. The converter places transparent pixels over the selected opaque background, with white used by default, before creating the JPG.
How Does HEIC Conversion Work?
The browser decodes a supported single still HEIC image and re-encodes it as JPG. HEIC support is loaded only when needed, and the output may differ in metadata, color handling, and file size.
Does Conversion Preserve Image Metadata?
Browser canvas conversion commonly removes EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and other metadata and may not preserve embedded color profiles byte-for-byte. The visible pixel dimensions are preserved for supported raster conversions.
